Director's Note #1
05/08/2025
NOTICE
Hello everyone,
I’m Sungmo, and I’m the Game Director of Supervillain Wanted.
Although our game may have many shortcomings, we sincerely appreciate you taking the precious time to play it. And also we are truly grateful for your support too.
We are working to resolve any inconveniences or unpleasant experiences as quickly as possible. Once again, we sincerely apologize for any discomfort you may have experienced.
I hope to share with you what kind of game Supervillain Wanted is and the direction it will take moving forward through this Director’s note.
Based on the feedback we received through our CS channel and the opinions we monitored from in-game chat, I have selected several key topics.
1. Is Supervillain Wanted an Idle game or a Collecting game?
That’s a good question, but also a difficult one to answer.
In the initial stages of development, Supervillain Wanted was planned as a much simpler idle game than it is now. However, during the development process, we found that collecting Villains with different Attributes and combining their synergies to climb higher ranks made the game much more enjoyable. As a result, we decided to make it an “idle game where you collect and upgrade Villains,” and began development and global service with this concept.
There are still many battle modules and content that have yet to be implemented. We plan to update the game so that the more you collect and upgrade, the greater advantage you will have in competition.
2. Sidekick? Capsule? NFT? Is this a Blockchain Game?
A sidekick is a “helper” concept for Villains that maximizes their effects.
When Supervillain Wanted started its global service, we wanted to meet players’ requests for clear pull rates by using Web 3.0 technology. So, the draw rates for sidekicks, which have a big impact in the game, are recorded on-chain (on the blockchain) for transparency.
You can purchase Capsules in the web shop(https://supervlabs.io/shop) and draw Sidekicks(https://supervlabs.io/sidekick/draw), and all probabilities and attempts are recorded as public records that the company cannot tamper with.
For this reason, Sidekicks can be owned as NFTs (since they are created on the blockchain), making them property that can be freely transferred between servers or traded with others.
The new in-game Sidekick draw, like the one in the web shop, is created immediately on the blockchain upon drawing, and players can trade Sidekicks with each other through external marketplaces. (however, Sidekicks obtained as ranking rewards require consuming a Trade Seal to transfer them to the account inventory).
Please note that we do not provide player-to-player trading features or an in-game marketplace ourselves. Instead, trading takes place through NFT marketplaces such as ‘wapal.io’ and ‘tradeport.xyz’.
3. I heard that Costumes can be traded too?Costumes can be packed in the locker room and then moved to your Account inventory.
To encourage player-to-player trading, we have given out limited edition costumes for free (for a limited time) or sold them (for a limited period).
We plan to continue offering and selling various limited edition Costumes in different ways, so please look forward to it.
4. Are you planning to add social features like guilds?
Due to the game’s characteristics, we are considering a lighter group feature (Crews) instead of traditional guilds.
In addition, when you join a Crew, we are preparing to give extra VPoints when you make purchases in the web shop (the current system of giving 10% of the purchase price as VPoints will remain).
We are also thinking about having a separate chat system for Crews and giving ranking rewards based on both Power Rankings and VPoint Rankings within Crews.
Moreover, we are preparing a “Square” system where players can freely meet others outside their Crews.
We aim to release the Crew feature in the May 15 update, and the Square system is planned for release between late May and mid-June.
5. Are there any plans for friend-related events and features, such as inviting friends or sending gifts to friends?
Of course we are working on them!
We are preparing events where the more friends you invite, the more permanent buffs or limited Costumes you can earn. We are also working on features that let you send in-game items, like Sidekick capsules, as gifts to your friends.
6. Are there plans to add PvP?
In many idle games, PvP often feels like a chore, but for Supervillain Wanted, we are thinking about how to make PvP more enjoyable and not just another task.
We are considering PvP modes where players can interact with each other, and we will share our update plans for this as soon as possible.
7. It feels like there aren’t enough places for players to show off their achievements.
The "Challenge: Ultimate Villain!" content is a server-merged ranking feature that was released simultaneously on both the Korean and global servers to celebrate the Korean launch.
However, we understand that despite the importance of this content, there are still not enough features to satisfy Captains who rank at the top.
Therefore, we plan to completely redesign the UI of the Challenge: Ultimate Villain content and update the server-merged chat channel. We hope this chat channel will allow top-ranked players to ask questions and share their thoughts with each other.
Additionally, we will give various rewards, including diamonds, to all players on the servers that make the top 1 to 3 ranked players. We hope that the users of each server will cheer on their top players so they can perform well in the merged ranking competition!
8. Are there plans to merge servers?
Currently, the global servers consist of nine servers, from WW 1-1 to WW 1-9. Since quite some time has passed since the launch, some servers have relatively very few players.
Because of this, we are considering a plan to merge existing servers. Since the start dates of each server are different, we plan to merge them into about two servers.
This decision requires careful consideration, so we will review it internally and inform you once we have more information.
I will wrap up this Director’s Note here, and I will regularly share better updates through future Director’s Notes.
Please keep sending us your valuable feedback. We will carefully review your suggestions and do our best to reflect them in future updates, so that Supervillain Wanted becomes even more enjoyable and satisfying.
Thank you.
