Director's Note #3
09/09/2025
NOTICE
Hello, Captains of Supervillain Wanted.
I’m Sungmo, the Director of Supervillain Wanted.
It’s been a while since the last Director's Note in July.
First, I need to address the 1st-anniversary event we promised.
We had been preparing a grand celebration to meet your expectations, but due to unforeseen internal and external circumstances, we’re not able to deliver the event at the scale we announced. To all Captains who waited so long, I sincerely apologize for the disappointment.
We are asking ourselves what fun we could still bring you right now—and as a result, we’ve prepared a World Boss event. Compared to what we had planned for the anniversary, it’s smaller and more modest in scope, but we hope you’ll enjoy it together with us.
Further details on the <World Boss: Black Dragon Event> will be provided in the patch notes. As for the most important promise of the anniversary—a special costume inspired by our Captains—we intend to keep that through the World Boss event. We will create an honorable, special costume inspired by the Captain who achieves 1st place in the event rankings.
What’s Next & What We’re Thinking About
I also want to share part of our future update direction and some of our team’s thoughts.
1. Trade Seal System Revamp
We know many Captains have long felt that Trade Seals lack meaningful uses. Even though Trade Seals—earned from ranking rewards or accumulated during the Sidekick update process—hold value comparable to cash, the absence of good ways to spend them has diminished their worth.
In the image above, In-game Circulation indicates the amount of surplus Trade Seals currently not being used in the game.
(You can view related stats here: https://economy.supervlabs.io/tradeseal)
We want Trade Seals to fully realize their intended value within the game and enhance your overall experience. To that end, we’re developing a system that lets you use Trade Seals to purchase certain products, including packages.
Once this system is introduced, the Trade Seals you’ve earned through your time and effort will become a meaningful reward—not just something to stockpile—enabling you to enjoy the game more richly. In parallel with expanding where Trade Seals can be used, we’re also exploring new ways to obtain them. As part of that effort, we’re preparing a gameplay-linked web event tentatively titled “Farm.”
2. Costume System Revamp & New Costumes
We understand many Captains have felt it was disappointing that cool costumes were mainly obtained via spending or through very limited avenues. We’re preparing a comprehensive overhaul to expand the function and role of costumes and to diversify how you can get them.
While keeping parts of the current acquisition methods, we’re building a new system so you can encounter costumes in more ways. Beyond just changing appearance, we want the process of obtaining and growing costumes itself to be enjoyable, and we’re exploring multiple systems to make that happen.
We’re also working on a variety of new costumes, and we’ll share images soon.
We’ll provide a more detailed breakdown of the system revamp once the plans are finalized and we can share them with confidence.
3. New Attendance Book
We’ve seen that some Captains are sad to see the “77777 Attendance Book” end. For those who have enjoyed Supervillain Wanted with us for a long time, we’ll add a new attendance book as soon as possible.
Our development team always puts one question first: how can Captains enjoy Supervillain Wanted even more? At times, our shortcomings may have disappointed you, but we’ll take your thoughtful criticism and feedback to heart and do our best to build a better game.
Thank you for reading to the end. I will strive to be a director who listens even more closely to your voices.
Thank you,
Sungmo
